Trogen has been a member of the “The Most Beautiful Villages in Switzerland” association since 2017. The association regularly awards prizes to communities that are particularly committed to maintaining the appearance of the village. Previously, in 2016 the prize was awarded to Riva San Vitale (TI), in 2017 to Grandson (VD), and the winner of the 2021 recognition award is the municipality of Trogen (AR).

According to a statement by the association, the recognition prize was awarded to Trogen on the occasion of the redesigned Landsgemeindeplatz. “The beautiful village of Trogen has become even more beautiful,” the statement says. The recognition award has a symbolic character. The municipality received a sign that has already been hung in the entrance area of the municipal administration.
The council is very pleased about the award, as it writes in a statement on Tuesday.
